Some corridors also offer optional HOV/Express Lanes with dynamic pricing that rises with congestion — we flag where these are available on your route, but the default estimate assumes the standard, non-Express lanes.

The calculator automatically adds a safety buffer for towing a trailer or camper, a roof box, or a heavy payload, and adjusts for terrain and increased aerodynamic drag — towing in particular can cut EV range by 30-50%, so we build in extra charging stops accordingly.
